Book Review
I have always loved reading these cozy murder mysteries by Joanne Fluke. And I have read several over the past few years. I need to keep track of those I have read and haven’t read so I can read them all. The way she writes, it just sucks you into the story right off the bat.
While looking at some Ebooks, I ran across this book, Devil’s Food Cake Murder, and I couldn’t remember the last time I had read a good cozy murder mystery, especially by one of my favorite authors. Joanne Fluke can write a murder mystery like no other in my opinion.
I love her characters, especially the main character Hannah Swensen, who is an amazing woman who runs a shop called The Cookie Jar. That is a place I wish I could visit. It sounds heavenly and like it produces some amazing treats. But that isn’t the best part about these amazing mystery books. It is a large series with 28 books total in the series. But in every single book, Joanne adds recipes.
And the coolest part is the recipes are written as if Hannah has written them herself. Joanne keeps Hannah alive even when sharing recipes. That makes for a great dedicated author to do something as unique and fun as that.
I can’t wait to pick up another book by Joanne Fluke and devour, no pun intended, another book from her series. I can’t wait to visit Hannah at her Cookie Jar while she, her friends, and family try to figure out yet another death that has happened int their little town. Great book, great author, great read!
