While watching my buddy, JordanKGames, he has introduced me to a few other streamers that I hope to interview all but this time around I asked a great streamer, amazing husband, and wonderful father, PreyStalker. JordanKGames and PreyStalker enjoy playing together so you will hear them on each other’s streams, but they also stream separate too. And when they do, I enjoy sitting in PreyStalker’s stream, chatting and watching him play games like, Minecraft. So of course I had to ask Prey if he would do an interview with me, and so here it is. Enjoy!
1. What is your Twitch name?
PreyStalker, but many just call me Prey.
2. Is there a special reason you chose that name?
I started under a very generic gamer tag and hated that it was so generic. I sat for a few days thinking of a good name, but I am not very creative in my names. I have always had a love/hate relationship for First-person Shooters (FPS) and wanted something that made sense for that kind of gameplay. Combined With the love of wolves I thought PreyStalker was a cool way to describe my slow sniping/tactical mind in FPSs and what wolves do to eat.
3. Why did you become a Twitch streamer?
When I was younger, I sat and watched many of my friends play video games and then branched to YouTube and twitch as I got younger and followed people like OMGITSFIREFOXX (Sonja Reed), IAMWILDCAT, Vannoss, and RoosterTeeth. They made it look like so much fun on YouTube, and because I can’t edit videos to save my life, I thought Twitch was the smarter choice.
4. Why did you choose to stream on Twitch and not another streaming platform?
Twitch had a better piece of the market and never really worried about how big of a piece I could capture. I didn’t really know about mixer until Ninja joined them and FB gaming didn’t have a beginner user interface at the time.
5. How long have you been a streamer?
I have been streaming for a few years back, but it was not very consistent until about November 2019. That was when I made the final judgement to retire from Active Duty and see if I could make a bit of extra money doing something I loved!
6. Do you only stream or do you have another job? If you are comfortable in telling my readers, what is your other job?
I do have a PT job selling Cigars and pipe tobacco/products. It started out as a means to help a friend of daughter’s grandfather, but has turned to a means to build my gaming PC and an area to call my own.
7. What are your favorite games to play?
I love playing all sorts of games. I currently have been playing a ton of Minecraft, both modded and vanilla. I absolutely love RPG games like Assassin’s Creed and dabbled in many FPS games. I also love games as simple as Among Us as well.
8. What are your favorite games to stream?
If I play it, I want to stream it! I am a very social gamer (that is the only time I am social, though). I really want to get into Sea of Thieves soon!
9. Do you have any games you would recommend my readers to play and why?
If you haven’t played the Assassin’s Creed Ezio collection (made up of Assassin’s Creed II, Revelations, and Brotherhood) then go out and try it. Ezio has a great story in all three games and the gameplay is awesome. I lost myself into those games and came away with a few lines that I like to use as mottos.
10. Was it hard to talk to your viewers when you first became a streamer? How long before you became at ease with streaming?
Surprisingly it was very easy from the beginning. I spent many streams with zero viewers and when I got 1 or 2 in chat I was super excited. My first follower Tucker (with a bunch of numbers to follow after his username) was a pretty good regular for a while and never forgot that impact he created on me. I love to chat while gaming and meeting new people all over the world. It is awesome to hear stories from all parts of the world and love chat for that exact reason.
11. Would you like to tell my readers anything else about yourself or about your Twitch channel?
I wish I had some words of wisdom or advice for here. I am more of an off-the-cuff kind of guy. Come hang out and watch me fail at gaming, but enjoy the conversation at the same time. I think you will have a great time and feel the community is very welcoming. The pack is diverse and super chill. I stream 5 nights a week Sunday- Thursday starting at 9pm CST, 10pm EST, 8pm PST and 3am London time. I end stream right around midnight CST. When you do decide to join in on the conversation, let me know how you found me so I can say thanks!
12. What are the links for your Twitch channel and any other channel you would love my readers to know or follow?
You can find me on stream at twitch.tv/PreyStalker
Twitter @PreyStalker_Instagram PreyStalker_ Or type in my twitch chat at any time !discord to get an invitation link to my discord channel.
PreyStalker also has merchandise but alas I did not save it on my phone so I could get you a link but you can always join the stream and get the link in the chat. His merchandise is amazing and I can’t wait to buy myself something from him as well.
He is a great guy, and I really hope that you will take the time to come join us in his stream. Chat with us, cheer him on as he plays games, and just have FUN! He is a very laid-back guy and will accept anyone into his stream and discord, but please don’t be a troll or a jerk. He is a human being just like everyone of those I write about and they do not deserve trolls. They deserve out support as they put themselves out there to help entertain us and play their games while making new friends and getting followers. So again come join me and PreyStalker on Twitch.
