Book Review
I have a lot of writing prompt books but this is one of my favorites for fantasy story ideas. I am not a huge science fiction writer but I will give it a go for my blog. The fantasy writing prompts are still my favorites to start with first. And I enjoy getting writing ideas from this book and a few others I own. I really like the way the author, Julie Wenzel, has the prompts set up.
You can flip through the book and randomly pick a page and then pick a prompt number from that page. Or you can have another family member or friend pick the prompt for you. Another fun way is to write out some of the numbers, put them in a hat, and then randomly pick a prompt number from there.
I have already used this book a few times and I have enjoyed writing a few short stories. I am thinking about breaking out this book again and write another short story from one of the prompts. It is a great way to fight writer’s block, in my opinion.
Here is a couple of pages from the book so you can see a few of the prompts that are written. Julie has come up with some fun science fiction and fantasy writing prompts for us writers.
If you are a writer or know a writer who likes to write from writing prompts, then I do recommend this prompt book. Easy to use, great ideas, and who knows, they might help you to write your next best seller.
Here is the link for this book and if you want to see Julie’s over books, then click on her name. It will take you to her author page where you can see and pick from her other books.
