Writing Exercise
Think of our character and write their dream home. You can also put together visual boards of their dream house.
Side Note
For this exercise, I will use Scout. She may just be a teenager, but even teenagers sometimes dream about their future house and what they want. I did. I also didn’t do the visual board or anything, but I will look on here and add a few pictures for fun.
My Writing
My dream house? Oh jeez, that is hard. But I think I know what I want.
I want a pool with a spa in a spacious backyard. And by spacious I mean have a back patio with seating, a pool,, and a tiny house for quests.
I think I want a two-story house, too. I’ve lived in one all my life and I like it, so I think my dream house needs to be a two-story, too.
And since I want a big family, my house has to have 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The bedrooms and bathrooms will be upstairs. Downstairs will be a half bathroom, living room, dining room, a big kitchen, and an office. I want a pretty big kitchen because I secretly love to cook. Plus, I’d like to cook meals with my future husband. Oh, and a fireplace in the living room.
And the guest house should be a single story small house that has 1 full bathroom, a nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a living room, a smallish dining room, and maybe an office too. Not too big but something liveable so my guests aren’t too uncomfortable.
I would like a nice front porch so the kids, my husband, and I can sit out there and enjoy watching the sunrises and sunsets. Plus, a nice place for me to sit while the kids play. Maybe a front garden. If not in the front, then I want a vegetable and fruit garden in the back. A back patio for sitting and to BBQ is a must, too.
So, yeah, that is my dream house.
