Book Review
I was given the chance to read an adventurous book by the sweet author C. A. Lewis. It felt like it took me ages to read the whole thing but I was able to finish it and I have to say wow! This book may be geared for children, but I think even adults would enjoy reading this book. I know I sure did.
An incredible story about accepting others, magic, dark elves, rescuing friends, and adventure. I didn’t know what to expect when I said yes to reading this book but I am so glad that I did read it. I loved meeting the characters Tom, Jenny and the hedegwitch, Freya. But I also enjoyed meeting the other characters that are based on fantasy such as wizards, fairies, dark elves, and other naughty creatures who want to turn the world upside down.
One aspect I didn’t expect when reading this well written book was the fact that Tom, Jenny, and Freya would be time traveling! I was pleasantly surprised when the group time traveled to see a wizard in a time when he could be put to death if he was ever found out. The wizard being a good friend of Freya, it was nice meeting someone who only wants to help, not hurt, those around them.
Along with an exciting story, we are given amazing illustrations by the talented Leanne Allen. The illustrations brings the characters even more alive, giving us someone to picture as we go on our journey alongside Tom, Jenny, and Freya.
I really enjoyed every minute reading this book. There were tense parts, happy parts, sad parts, and distressing parts all wrapped up neatly in one book with beautiful illustrations. I am going to let my oldest daughter read this book and see if she enjoys it as well.
Thank you, C. A. Lewis for giving me the chance to read your book. I fully enjoyed every page of it and look forward to your next book. You did an amazing job writing this book to capture your reader’s attention.
And you, my readers, go and grab yourself a copy and enjoy the colorful illustrations by Leanne Allen and the even colorful writing by C. A. Lewis. Enjoy your trip with Tom, Jenny, and Freya. And watch out for the dark elves. They aim to capture and ruin all things good.
