By Lacey Crazd Gordon
Imagine a beautiful two-story Victorian house snuggly sitting on the breathtaking island of Oahu. It has a nice porch in the front and a backyard for huge parties and family gatherings, with a pool. The downstairs has a spacious office, cozy kitchen, roomy living room, and a dining room for large or small families. The upstairs boasts a comfortable master bedroom with a bathroom to die for, 4 bedrooms for kids or guests, two full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms is attached by one of the full bathrooms, great for younger kids. The house is surrounded by a quiet neighborhood with neighbors who are more like family than neighbors. It’s not a long drive to work, shopping, and schools.
BUT the house has a dark past. A happy military family moves into the house, not expecting the horror that waits for them. A crazed neighbor who promised the love of her life before she passed due to cancer that no one will buy and live in the house, only rent it, takes his promise very seriously. He tried to drive them out of the house but since they wouldn’t move out fast enough, he took things into his own hands.
Now the new owner, Leilani, who is in LOVE with the house, can’t wait to move in after her best friend and realtor, Nalani, had shown her the house. She ignores the rumors and the stories about the house. Now she has moved in, things are not going as planned. Who can help her save her house and herself?
I can’t believe it
The book I just described is MY book. I still can’t believe that this will be MY first published book, ready to delight and scare people alike. It is a horror paranormal book that I actually dreamt up and now my dream has come to life in print and in an eBook.
I have wanted to become a published author since I first got out of High School. I had a teacher my junior year who had opened my eyes to the world of poetry and writing. I was not fond of poetry writing, but I was published in a few books, though I did have to pay for that to happen. But the door was opened and the journals, pens, and notebooks found their way into my hand. My ideas flowed out of me, and filled the journal and eventually started to creep into my notebooks.
I wanted to give up quite a few times over the years, but I never did, thanks to my husband, Ryan. He never stopped pushing me, and being my biggest supporter, and now my biggest fan. I wouldn’t be where I am without him always being the voice of reasoning and telling me to never give up. He is my knight in shining armor and my little voice. I am so grateful for having found my soulmate in this man and having him in my life.
Our daughters are also my biggest fans and I wanted to prove to them that with hard work and never giving up, their dreams will come true in life, too. We want to show them that Ryan and I will support them with whatever they choose to do with their lives and we will always be their biggest fans.
My Publisher
My Publisher, Stacy, from Hear Our Voice LLC has been such an amazing new part of this new life of mine. She has been there every step of the way for this book and I am ever so grateful for this opportunity with her by my side as my published and friend. She took my book, and with the help of her and Holly my other editor, she has crafted my book into something I am proud of. She created my cover, too, which I absolutely LOVE. I can’t wait to work with her on more of my books. I can’t wait to see what the future, mine as an author, and together with Stacy as Author and Publisher has in store for us.
