Children’s Book Review
I was approached by the author, LE Macy, to review her children’s book Clyde the Lucky Cat. It’s based on a true story about a real-life cat by the name of Clyde. Being a lover of cats, I told her yes please! I, myself, have rescued three cats before when I was younger and then three more cats now in our forever home. I love dogs, don’t get me wrong, but I have a better connection with cats, I think.
Even better, I have two amazing little girls who love stories about cats. One is 4 and will be 5 in July, and our other is 9 years old. When I told them I had a special book to read to them, they were very excited. But when I told them it is about a cat, and it’s a true story, they couldn’t wait.
I read it to them before bed from my kindle. They hung on every word and loved the illustrations of little Clyde. We all enjoyed the sweet story about how the author and her significant other saved Clyde from a rough life on the streets. We laughed at his antics and said aaaaawwww to his sweetness. We cheered when he knew he was home with his humans and giggled when he had to go to the vet.
This is a special, fun, sweet book that I think every child should read or listen to because it has such a impactful message. A message telling us that cats, or even dogs, no matter how tough they act, need a good home and love.
Clyde was indeed a very lucky cat and this cute story from the words written to the amazing illustrations showed me and my girls just that.
I’d say 10/10 for sure.
I will post the link for it from Amazon if you’d like to learn more about Clyde the Lucky Cat and his adventure into his human’s hearts and ours, the reader.
