Chapter 1
Jeff yawns and glances at the clock. He still had three more hours before he can go home. Running his fingers through his short black hair, he turns his gray eyes back to the computer. He stares at the screen, not seeing the names or numbers. Blinking a few times, he focuses and reads what pills need to be filled for the next customer.
“Here are your pills. Do you have any questions for one of our pharmacists today?”
Jeff glances over to the front where Tina is talking to one of their customers. He groans when he sees the red hair, sharp green-eyed vixen glancing over at him. Jeff forces a smile and waves to the woman picking up her medication.
“Oh, you know I love chatting to one particular pharmacist.” The lady waves her manicured fingers at him. “But I can’t today. I have to get to my hair appointment.” She looks at Tina as she grabs her bag then back to Jeff. “Bye, Jeff.”
Jeff clears his throat. “Uh, yeah, bye Sheila,” Jeff says. He waves and gets back to work. Once Sheila can’t see him, he sighs in relief. Sheila is always flirting with him, even though he is happily married. He has told her so many times to stop, but she always ignores him.
“When will she learn?”
Jeff looks up at the other pharmacist working that cold, foggy Monday. “I don’t think she will ever learn, Ray.” He shakes his head and gets back to work.
Ray nods and puts pills in a bottle to go out to the next. He laughs and tells Jeff a few jokes to lighten the mood. The team laughs and jokes while they work the day away.
Accurate and detailed description of a pharmacy! I love how detail-oriented all of your stories are 🙂.
Thanks. I go to Walgreens pharmacy a lot and hoped I got it right.
