Q.W.E.R.T.Y- A Book Review

I cannot tell a lie, a typewriter on the front of this book is what caught my eye when I was perusing the books written by Barbara Avon. And then she pulled me in when she said that it is a Paranormal novella. I was hooked and had to buy it on Amazon Kindle.

What is a novella you ask? Well a novella is longer than a short story which sits roughly around 5,000 to 10,000 words or even anywhere above 1,000 words. While the novella is a story that is between 17,000 to 40,000 words. And the big old novel is between 60,000 to 100,000 words.

So Barbara took on writing a novella and after reading it, I would say she did an amazing job. But now I want more and wish she would write a part 2 or change this novella into a novel.

Her MC was so raw and full of emotion that at first I was confused as to where these emotions were coming from. And then as the story progressed, I could see what had happened that basically destroyed this poor man. But with the help of the interesting typewriter left to him by a deceased relative, there is hope pouring out of him and you want to read more to see how he turns his life around by using the typewriter as well as to see how he interacts with his wife who was taken from him too soon.

I actually could not put this one down and I really enjoyed it. Emotions running amuck, strange ghosts popping up from who knows where, and a man and his typewriter. But I do warn you that there is adult language present, so if that isn’t your thing, then best sit this one out. Though, you will be missing out on a good novella. So why not give it a chance? I am glad I did. And I already have two other books by Barbara that I cannot wait to read and blog about as well. Enjoy a new author like Barbara Avon!
