One of my favorite movies/ books is the Disney Beauty and the Beast and I have read another re-telling of the story years ago but nothing like this book. This story…what can I truly say? This re-telling of the famous Beauty and the Beast is a masterpiece all on its own.
Magical is not a strong enough word for this book and I was trapped in its grasp immediately after I finished Chapter 1. Katherine used her own magic to pull me in so effortlessly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she herself is part Fey. Katherine, are you?

Reading about Rose and Thorn and how they came to meet, a very different way than in the other story, it made me want to dive in head first into the book. Rose is such a complex yet simple character that I saw a lot of myself in her. And Thorn another complex but enchanting character that I wanted to break the curse myself and save him, returning him to his human self.
I am in awe with how the story moved along so beautifully, even with the action-packed scenes. My heart sang when Rose and Thorn spent time together and my heart broke any time they got into a fight or Thorn was hurt. The magic that envelopes this story has helped place itself on my favorite book shelf and will be a book I wish to read again and again. I hope to one day pass this book to my girls to read as well and hope that they love it as much as I do.
I can’t wait to read her next book, a re-telling of the story of Sleeping Beauty. I already have purchased and it is just waiting for me to read when I can.
Here is the link to her book The Rose and The Thorn. I hope that you will give it a read and enjoy it!
