77 Powerful Ideas To Inspire Your Fiction
Book Review
Yes, this is another blog on yet another prompt book. What can I say? I love me some good prompt books. I haven’t found one that I don’t like using…yet. But that can change since I have quite a few and haven’t used them all just yet.
This one I have used. I was drawn to it because of the really cool front cover. Plus yes, it says horror and if you haven’t noticed yet from my other short stories and all, my favorite genre is Horror. I write it, I watch it, I read it, I breath it. So of course, I saw a Horror prompts and had to see what they are all about.
And the way the author, Rayne, wrote the blurb on the back makes me grin. It is so well thought out and fun to read as much as the prompts themselves. I haven’t posted anything written from these prompts, but I definitely will. I want to have a short story on my blog written from each book. There may be more than from one prompt book since a few of the books are two or more genres crammed together. But I will have to find the one I wrote using this book, or maybe write a new one all together, and post it on my blog. That is my goal though: to review all of my prompt books and then have a short story from each one on my blog.
Here, let me give you a glimpse of a page from the inside so that you can check it out for yourself.
Rayne just doesn’t give you an idea numbered in the book. She gives you full paragraphed ideas to write about on each page. And like a few others I have reviewed, the author gives you a place to write on the opposite side. I don’t like writing in my books like that so I will use a notebook so I have more space to fully get engrossed in what I want to write. But if you like to maybe write a few ideas for a story in the book, then she gives you that option.
I was looking at her other books and I definitely want to eventually buy all of them. She has a great looking series that could help a writer fight off writer’s block as well as expand on their writing skills. I will provide the link for the book I reviewed but I say to definitely check out her other books. See if any of them grabs your attention to add to your own bookshelf. Or maybe to buy for a writer friend who would like them as well.
