Writing Exercise
For this exercise, think about value. Like how we value family, friends, cars, houses, money, things like that. Now think about your characters and what they value.
Character I will use for this exercise
I am using my main character from a YA paranormal I will write, edit, and hopefully get published in the future. The main character is a teenager named Scout, and she goes to Azriel High. It’s a high school in California that seems like a regular HS except this high school has a secret. It is a high school that teaches regular classes like Math and English, but it also teaches classes like Demon Hunting, Stalking, and Demon Classification, to name a few.
My Writing for Exercise
Scout values her family, her friends, and everyone in her high school. That is why she took a vow to always protect them. She studies and trains hard, so she is always ready in case any demon were to attack anyone she loves or attack the school and those who go to the school. She would rather sacrifice her own life for anyone she knows. This pushes the story forward by her always being on the lookout and ready. She knows that one day the demons will attack her school and her classmates and the staff of the school, so she never lets her guard down. Even in her sleep, she is on guard.
Scout sounds like a strong, determined person. And the premise sounds interesting.
