Writing Exercise
Pick one of your characters and have them change. This change would be in response to something that happened to them or someone they know.
Side Note
This exercise was one I had to really think about. I will be using Scout.
Scout’s Changes
Scout is a teenage demon hunter who has the usual mood swings teenagers have; anger, boredom, flirting, annoyance with the parents once in a while, happiness, sadness, loves hanging with friends though she does act out once in a while. But for the most part she is a good kid.
Scout is in training so she can better protect non-hunters against the demons that want to take over the world. She has killed and it doesn’t phase her as much since it is all a part of her training. She follows the rules and disposes of the demons only when it is needed. Other times she captures them and they are placed in a facility where the demons are either sentenced to helping people, killed if they are still too dangerous, or are exorcised and returned to their normal lives as humans who had just been take over by the demon.
But if there is someone close to Scout who is murdered, as in the book, then all bets are off. She breaks the rules and she murders every last demon, not carrying if they can be saved or not. Scout will break the rules for revenge.
